About the Speaker
From a Managing Director position with local beverage pioneer Yeo Hiap Seng to a CEO position with property giant Far East Organization, Dr Leong Horn Kee has been at the helm, driving the growth of some of Singapore's largest companies.
A seasoned leader, he draws from over four decades of experience across various industries like venture capital, investment banking, food and beverage (F&B), property development, engineering and hotels to name a few.
His leadership experience also extends to the government, where he served 22 years as a Member of Parliament (MP) for the Thomson Group Representation Constituency (GRC). He was also a Director in the Ministry of Finance, a Deputy Director in the Ministry of Trade & Industry and Singapore's Non-Resident High Commissioner to Cyprus, a position which he currently holds.
A highly respected figure in local and regional business circles, he has been invited to sit on the board of directors for multiple listed and private companies in Singapore. Despite his significant achievements, he remains down-to-earth and humble, committing to constant growth and lifelong learning. This commitment has earned him six degrees, including a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the prestigious INSEAD Business School, and a research doctorate (DBA) from the University of Western Australia (UWA).
After years of making tough decisions, weathering multiple business storms and delivering hundreds of millions of dollars in shareholder value, he has embarked on a new journey. He aims to give back to the next generation of business leaders by setting up the Austin International Management School, a private business school providing a series of talks, workshops and networking opportunities for aspiring entrepreneurs to be mentored by seasoned entrepreneurs who have built up profitable businesses across different industries in Singapore.
As he enters into retirement at the age of 65, he now divides most of his time between mentoring and something he feels equally important, spending time with his wife and grandchildren.
